Generally, if deep groove ball bearings are used correctly, they can be used to their maximum life. If they are not used correctly, they will be damaged prematurely. This early damage, which is relative to fatigue life, is called the quality use limit of failure or accident. It is mostly caused by irregularities in installation, use, and lubrication, or foreign matter intruding from the outside.

Regarding the damage status of deep groove ball bearings, such as the jamming of bearing rings and flanges, the main reasons are insufficient lubricant, unsuitability, defects in the oil supply and discharge structure, intrusion of foreign matter, bearing installation errors, excessive shaft deflection, or all of the above.

Therefore, it is difficult to know the real cause of the damage by only investigating the bearing damage. However, if you know the bearing's use machinery, use conditions, and the structure around the bearing, and understand the situation before and after the accident, combined with the bearing's damage status and several causes, you can prevent similar accidents from happening again.

The vibration of deep groove ball bearings is very sensitive to bearing damage, such as peeling, indentation, rust, cracks, wear, etc., which will be reflected in the vibration measurement of rolling bearings. Therefore, the magnitude of vibration can be measured by using special bearing vibration measuring instruments (frequency analyzers, etc.), and the specific abnormal situation cannot be inferred by frequency analysis. The measured values vary depending on the use conditions of the rolling bearings or the installation position of the sensor, so it is necessary to analyze and compare the measured values of each machine in advance to determine the judgment standard.

The temperature of deep groove ball bearings can generally be inferred from the temperature outside the bearing chamber. The temperature of the outer ring of the rolling bearing can also be directly measured using the oil hole, which can be measured more accurately.

Usually, the temperature of the rolling bearing starts to rise slowly as the bearing runs, and reaches a stable state after 1-2 hours. The normal temperature of the rolling bearing varies depending on the heat capacity, heat dissipation, speed and load of the machine. If the lubrication and installation are not appropriate, the bearing temperature will rise sharply and high temperature will appear. At this time, the operation must be stopped, and the bearing must be disassembled and repaired for inspection. If conditions permit, a thermal sensor can be used to monitor the operating temperature of the rolling bearing at any time, and automatically alarm or stop operation when the temperature exceeds the specified value to prevent shaft burning accidents.
